FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Box Office

What are your opening hours?

Our bar is open from 7PM every Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday! Most shows typically start at 8PM unless stated otherwise on the event.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available right here, on our website. Just go to the navigation bar at the top of the site and click 'Watch Comedy'. This will take you to all of our upcoming shows. Once you've selected the show you want to come and watch, you can select the quantity of tickets you want to purchase and will then be taken to checkout!

Can I buy tickets on the door?

Providing there are still tickets available, you will be able to purchase them on the door though, we always advise that you buy tickets in advance so you have a guaranteed seat!

What is your refund/exchange policy?

All ticket sales are final. Refunds will only be issued if the show is canceled or rescheduled by the organiser. In case of rescheduling, tickets will be valid for the new date, or a refund can be requested within 48 hours of the announcement. Tickets are transferable; please contact us 24 hours before the show to update ticket holder details. For refund requests or questions, email hello@jestersofbath.com. Exceptions to this policy are at the discretion of the event organisers.

Why can't I purchase any more than 6 tickets at a time?

We are a small comedy club with a maximum seated capacity of just 56! To ensure the quality of the show, we limit group sizes to a maximum of 6. As comedians ourselves, we know how one large group can change the atmosphere of a night, especially in a small room. If you are a large party, and still want to attend - drop us an email hello@jestersofbath.com and we'll help you to find a solution!

Accessibility

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately not! We are located in the cellar bar underneath The Assembly Inn, the only access of which is through a set of stairs outside the pub. If you have additional needs and still want to attend a show (Thank you! You are very kind!) please contact us via email and we will work with yourselves to find a practical solution to get you into the venue.

How can I request accommodations for disabilities?

Email is the best way to contact us about any special considerations or accessibility needs - hello@jestersofbath.com

Food & Drink

Can I bring my own food or drinks?

No!! Are you trying to put us out of business?! We appreciate that things are more expensive now, and you might not have the means to purchase drinks or snacks at our bar. In which case you'll have to eat and drink before entering the venue. Anyone found filling up their own cup or sneaking a kebab in, will be politely asked to leave!

Do you serve food or drinks at the venue?

We have a fully stocked bar with drinks and snacks. We're also connected to the bar upstairs so if you can't find what you're looking for, you can buy whatever you're after for from there. We don't serve hot food, instead we would suggest grabbing a few bags of bacon and scampi fries - It's British tapas!

Are there nearby places to eat before or after the show?

Bath has SO MANY amazing restaurants and bars to choose from. Very close by is Dos Dedos, which serves Mexican light bites such as tacos and nachos as well as some delicious cocktails to wash it down with. If that's not what you're in the mood for, take a stroll down Milsom St, it's littered with amazing bars and restaurants!

Can I take drinks into the show?

Of course, so long as they're purchased at our bar or upstairs at The Assembly Inn!

Are there Non/low alcohol options available?

Yes! We have a wide selection of Non/Low Alcohol Beers & Ciders. Failing that, water and cola are always a safe bet!

Performing at The Jesters Of Bath

How can I apply to perform at your comedy club?

If you're looking to perform with us - awesome! To get in contact drop us an email - hello@jestersofbath.com and we'll forward you our sign-up link. We use Confirmed to book all of our shows. You'll have to create a profile. It's really simple and means we've got you on file for any future gigs / drop out spots.

Do you host open mic nights?

We host a New Material/New Act night every Monday called 'Pint & A Laugh'. Pint & A Laugh has been running for nearly 4 years now, and is actually older than the club! It's perfect for anyone looking to test out some new material or if you're a newer act. There's also 'Big Squash Comedy' at The Saracens Head every Wednesday. We book Pint & A Laugh quite far in advance to ensure everyone who applies can get on at some point, so if you're desperate for a gig, it's worth popping down to Big Squash as they welcome on the night sign-ups!

What kinds of acts do you book?

We book acts from the open-mic level all the way up to professionals. We're keen to help up & coming comedians progress which is why we have 'The Irregulars' every Friday night. We get 4 rising comedians all doing 15 minutes to help them to develop more material and progress their craft. We do ask that before applying for Friday nights, you come and do Pint & A Laugh a few times first!

Do you offer workshops or training for comedians?

Yes! We often get professional comedians who have a short course to teach, come to the club to help newer acts tighten up and improve their skills. Keep an eye on our What's On page to see what workshops or writing gyms we've got coming up.
